We usually refer to our first date as first date weekend because it was the date that we never wanted to end. We visited state parks, ate at a few restaurants, attended a food truck festival, and even went out for drinks with friends, all over the course of two days. Every time the the date was about to end, one of us would suggest something else to do so we could spend more time together.
It's become our tradition to take a trip up to the Finger Lakes every May to celebrate another year together. Sadly, with Coronavirus, we weren't able to go this year. Instead Tyler planned a picnic for us at one of the parks where we had our first date. With Sadie in tow, we walked around until we settled on a bench at the top of a hill overlooking the creek below. We sat for awhile and talked, just as we had on our first date, until this time Tyler pulled a small ring box out of his pocket and asked me to marry him.
We are so excited to share this next milestone of our lives with you all. We can't wait to be surrounded by those we love the most as we get married and start our future together.
