Travel Note

Jubilee 2025

2025 will be a Jubilee Year, or Holy Year, in the Catholic Church, which is a year dedicated to celebration, forgiveness, and renewal. In 2025, Rome will welcome pilgrims from all over the world who come to celebrate this special occasion. Please take this into consideration if you plan to fly/visit Rome as it may be busier than usual with tourists from all over the world celebrating this holiday. It will affect major cities but not the country side where the wedding will be held.

Major airports in Italy to fly into: Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Rome is the international hub for flights from the US. A high-speed Frecciarossa train to Florence (Firenze S. M. A high-speed Frecciarossa train to Florence (Firenze S. M. Novella) takes about 2 hours and costs roughly €70. From there, take a taxi to your accommodation (€170 taxi, €180 for a 7-8 person minivan). Alternatively, a scenic 3 hour car ride will get you from Milan to Lucca. for about €620 from Malpensa airport and €570 from Milan city centre. Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR) in Florence typically requires a connection from the US. The airport is 1 hour to the wedding venue by car (€150 taxi, €160 for a 7-8 person minivan).  Pisa International Airport (PSA) is the closest airport to the wedding venue, however, flights into Pisa require a connection. The airport is 50 minutes to the wedding venue by car (€110 taxi, €120 for a 7-8 person minivan). Alternatively, you can take a 30-minute train to the Lucca Train Station (€10) followed by a 25-minute taxi ride to your accommodation (between €40-€60 taxi or 7-8 person minivan).

House Or Rental

Casale De' Pasquinelli

Via per S. Pietro, 34
San Pietro Marcigliano, Lucca 55012, Italy

We rented a 18.5 bedroom Villa for 3 nights and 4 days. It is a private villa for 38 guests that includes 5 houses tastefully furnished with 2 pools for all our guests. Each house has a shareable kitchen and living room area, upstairs has 3-4 bedrooms with their own private bathrooms. To reserve your stay at the Villa, it will be First Come First Serve. The villa will have a set rate of $300 per guest. Please reach out to Krystie or Miguel to check for availability. Click VIEW below to take a peek of where our wedding will be held.

Hotel

Tenuta San Pietro

Via per San Pietro, 22/26
San Pietro a Marcigliano, Lucca 55012, Italy

As the Villa can only accommodate 38 guests, we recommend staying at the hotel thats is 5 minutes away walking distance from the Villa. It's a minimum of 2 nights and includes 11 bedrooms: 4 luxury, 4 Superior, 2 Suites, and 1 regular bedroom. Prices vary from €200 to €380 a night. Booking opens January 2025, we highly recommend booking sooner rather than later as we cannot "block" rooms for our guests. Email Elisa at info@tenutasanpietro.com to reserve your room. Click VIEW below to check out the hotel details.

Travel Note

Renting an Airbnb?

If you plan to rent an Airbnb with a group of guests rather than staying at the Hotel or Villa is perfectly up to you. Krystie and Miguel have a list of suggestions to provide for nearby accommodations. However, we would like you to keep in mind that it may be a longer distance to the Villa so you will need to find your own transportation to the Villa for all events. If you are renting a car and are using this as transportation, please inform Krystie and Miguel as there are limited parking space on the Villa property, especially on the wedding day with all the wedding vendors.
