They met at a beautiful backyard wedding in LA. Krystal was good friends with the bride, Dan was close with the groom. Neither of them had intentions of meeting someone new that night, but good thing they were both single. Midway through the party, Dan asked the bride, "Woah, who's the girl in the green dress?" and the bride replied, "that's Krystal. She's a bad b^^^^. She may be out of your league, but you should ask her to dance." 17 liters of tequila later, Dan mustered up enough courage to talk to her. KC and JoJo's slow jam "All My Life" started to play, and Dan knew it was go-time. He asked Krystal to dance, but suddenly the song changed to Luis Fonsi's uptempo, "Despacito." Dan was in over his head; salsa was not in his repertoire but he went for it anyway. Turns out he had nothing to worry about. She was actually impressed with his spins, dips, and determination to lip sync every lyric. It didn't hurt that she was also a few liters deep on the silly juice. They danced all night. Nearly 4 years later, they're still dancing. They've stayed committed to practicing the basics: humor, humility, support, spontaneity, and a healthy dose of patience, even when it feels impossible. They are grateful to have been guests at the same wedding so many moons ago, and excited to navigate the future together. Dan still doesn't know how to salsa.
