I first met Steve when he was teaching a Paleo cooking class at Natural Grocers. Two days later I was shopping in the store and he approached me about coming to another class that afternoon. I told him that I needed to mow, but maybe I'll stop by and if not, I had signed up on the email list. When I didn't show up to the class he emailed me and asked if I'd stop by that week to grab coupons to put in the breakroom at work. He told me what days he was working and to stop by his office. After chatting for awhile he asked if I'd go out with him sometime.

Our first date was at JT95 (Johnny's Tavern off 95th St). We talked for hours and realized how easy it was to hang out so we planned our next date at a Royals game. Steve walked me to the car in the rain and gave me a kiss good night.

Steve proposed at the Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum. We enjoyed (spiked) peppermint hot cocoa while looking at Christmas lights.
