Krystal & Erik

We met at Adobe Springs in Silver City, New Mexico. We had been chatting for a bit through Facebook and Snapchat and decided to meet for lunch. I arrived first and got us a table while I waited for Erik to arrive. I remember not being nervous or thinking much of it (it wasn't my first rodeo). Erik arrived and we greeted each other with a friendly hug. I started talking about the type of food they had at the restaurant and asked what he was thinking of ordering. Erik wanted a ham and cheese sandwich with absolutely nothing else in the sandwich (this was the beginning of me learning he was a picky eater lol). Erik was very quiet and would rarely make eye contact with me. I remember thinking that Erik did not like me since he was being so reserved. I tried typical conversation starters like asking about pets or his family. Erik would briefly answer but still remained quiet. Once we were finished with lunch, it was time for Erik to get back to work. We walked out together and to our vehicles and I remember thinking, "This is it, this guy was wasting my time and is going to ghost me!" But little did I know.... this was only the beginning of something special.
