When Kristyn and Kyle started the 2014-2015 school year at Cabrini High School, neither of them anticipated just how drastically it would change the course of their lives. For Kristyn, it would mean the start of her first full-time teaching job, a crash-course in theatrical production, and the formation of lasting friendships (if you think this is hyperbole, take note of the lovely ladies serving as officiant and members of her bridal party). For Kyle, it would mean year number six teaching and coaching at Cabrini, and his renewed goal of becoming even more involved in the school community. Unbeknownst to them, this year would also bring with it the start of their love story. Their romance could be characterized as a "slow burn," as it all began in friendship: sharing their interests in music (especially their favorite band, Rush), European history, Jeopardy!, fantasy novels and films (like The Lord of the Rings), Detroit sports, and comedy; quoting lines from Saturday Night Live and National Lampoon movies; attending each other's school plays and quiz bowl competitions; and cracking jokes and texting silly memes back and forth during lunch. After several months of a blossoming friendship, they decided to see if "there was something there that wasn't there before," and they went on their first date--a trip to the batting cages followed by some ice cream. Nearly eight years of camping trips, baseball games, nature hikes, musicals, Disney movies, and game nights later, Kristyn and Kyle were finally ready to write the next chapter of their life together, just in time to ring in the New Year of 2023. They are thrilled to celebrate this next chapter--Married Life--with all of you on October 26, 2024!
