COVID 19 Testing Requirements for Travel to Scotland

Current requirements for travel to the UK from a green list country (The US is green list) for FULLY VACCINATED travelers does NOT require a negative PCR test BEFORE you get on the plane to leave the US. Current requirements for FULLY VACCINATED travlers coming from the US DOES require a 2-Day Lateral Flow test, that must be taken within 48-hours of your arrival in the UK. We have purchased our 2-Day Lateral Flow test from Rainbow Labs: https://www.rainbowlabs.co.uk/store/Rapid-Antigen-Test-LFD-Day-2-p381958352. You simply enter your name and the address of where we are staying, which is: Monkstadt House and Steading Linicro Isle of Skye IV51 9YN. They will ship all the tests to this location and we can all take the tests once you arrive at Monkstadt. You will use your smart phone through the WiFi to upload your test to the proper website.

What do I need to do and bring before I leave the US to travel to the UK?

1.) Fill out the Passenger locator form: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk (Copy and paste the link into your browser. ) You can submit the form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in the UK. It’s free to submit the form. 2.) Be sure that you have ALREADY ordered your 2-Day COVID test, because you will need to provide the Reference Number from the test on this form; 3.) Ensure you have multiple copies of your CDC Vaccination Card. 4.) Bring proof of residency in the US--it could be a utility bill or any billing statement with your name and address.

COVID Testing and Vaccination Request from Libby and Kristy

TESTING: L + K are asking our vendors, family and guests to bring Rapid Test kits with them for use during our time together. We would like to ask you to do a self rapid test prior to the Welcome Dinner on Friday and if you're amenable, prior to the ceremony on Sunday. We are bringing our our Rapid Test kits with us to test ourselves, and we ask that you bring a couple per person as well. We recommend this brand, (Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test), which you can find at CVS or Walgreens in the US (or even Walmart or Amazon). For those in the UK, we have been told the kits are free, so feel free to use those kits! VACCINATIONS: We are asking all of our guests to be fully vaccinated by the time of our celebration. In addition, we are asking that those who can, get your BOOSTER shot before the wedding as well. Libby and I were both able to get ours here in Florida and they didn't ask WHY we were eligible, we just got the boost. We ask that you at least try for the boost-TY!

How do I get tested to RE-ENTER the US?

Answer

You must have a negative test within 3 days of arriving back in the US. However, the normal rapid/lateral flow tests we mention above are NOT the same test. We have to use this test: "Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test with eMed Telehealth". The test uses a telehealth doctor to walk your through the test from whereever you are, and then after you hold up your negative test to the camera, will send you proof of your negative test that you can then upload to the airline website or whereever we are required to share it. BUY THESE ASAP, as they will likely sell out!!!! (Kristy and Libby have two extra of these tests so feel free to reach out if you want to buy those from us, they are $35 bucks each)
