Flight

Rome Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

Rome is a great starting point regardless of your vacation plans. FCO is the largest airport in Italy. It's connected to Rome's city center via bus and train, or you can take taxis or ride shares. It is less than 2 hrs by car or train to Spoleto and the San Pietro. Flight prices fluctuate, and October is off peak season, but don't wait too long! We watch flight prices on Google Flights, and the Hopper app. Please note: Italy requires passports to be valid 6 months past the date of departure.

Train

Trenitalia

Trenitalia is the national rail service, so it includes all of the national routes. You can either book your ticket online, or, if you’re feeling a little more spontaneous, wait until you get to the train station. There is a train station in Spoleto.

Rental Car

Car Rentals

Most major car hire brands are found it Italy, such as Avis, Europecar and Hertz. Along with your US drivers license, you must have an international drivers permit to drive in Italy. That can be obtained from AAA.

Abbazia San Pietro in Valle

Immersed in thick green woods, with a view over the Nera Valley, The Abbazia San Pietro In Valle is a 13th century monastery converted into a hotel with an 8th century church. The ceremony and reception will be held here. There is limited rooms, and most are reserved for our immediate family. If you are interested in staying in the Abbey, please let us know!
