Wedding Party

Sammantha Winchester

Best Woman

Kristine met Sammantha a handful of years ago at a bar, and the rest quickly became the stuff of legends. It was the Tuesday night between Christmas and New Years, and some Calliopods (people from Calliope) were meeting up at a bar for karaoke. Despite not usually being one to go out on a work night (or any night…) Kristine thought it sounded like fun and decided to go. Once there, she was immediately enamored by the pair working the event, and somehow mustered the courage to put her number in the phone of the incredible karaoke host. The karaoke host (who obviously turns out to be Sammantha) had been singing throughout the night and her voice absolutely blew Kristine away. All Kristine could think of was “I have GOT to get this woman into Calliope!” So when Sammantha texted the next day, Kristine launched into her elevator pitch about Calliope, when auditions were being held, and how she just HAS to join. “So, that’s why you put your number in my phone? You want me to join your choir?” “Yes, of course. Why else would someone put their number in someone’s phone at karaoke?” (Long pause)“ooooooohhh. Yeah, no. I mean, I absolutely think you are gorgeous, but all I was thinking about was choir”. And thus began our wonderful friendship.

Sara Moore

Bridesmaid

Sara is Kristine’s sister. I can’t think of a witty story for right here, so this is mostly filler for now. I’ll need to come back to this later (sorry, Sara. We have lots of great memories together, I just cant pick one that suits this need that won’t make me cry (good cry) or roll my eyeballs).

Liz Patrick

Bridesmaid

Liz is Kristine’s sister. When we were growing up, we shared a room and had bunk beds. When I was in late 20s, when I had just gotten divorced and thought the world was going to swallow me whole, she (and her husband Bryan) let me live in her basement while I got back on my feet. There would be more to this story, but it would make my eyeballs leak, and nobody wants that.

Amanda Rohren

Best Woman

Amanda (Bro) and Amy have been friends for almost a decade. They originally met on a dating site and found out quickly things wouldn’t work out (Bro wasn’t willing to move from Nebraska and Amy wasn’t moving period). So like true lesbian fashion they became best bros. Lots of texting and talking on the phone quickly proved that we are brothers from another mother (lol).

Mary Jo Buermann

Mother of a bride & bridesmaid

Mary Jo and Amy go way back (41 years to be exact). Mary Jo has always been a rock in Amy’s life, no matter what Amy throws at her. Amy will randomly call and ask the most ridiculous questions (just to hear her voice). They have also have done traveling together from Disneyland to cruises and always laughing when together.

Elizabeth Kinzer

Bridesmaid

Liz (Bestie) and Amy met roughly 25 years ago at Castaway (winter church camp). They started as friends and became best friends quickly. They have gone through soooo many adventures including traveling, long nights out, break ups and now weddings.

Greta Evans-Becker

Mother of a bride & Officiant

We are blessed and honored that Kristine’s mom, Greta Evans-Becker, is the officiant for our wedding. Greta is the Energiser Bunny, and there is nothing she can’t do, if she puts her mind to it. She has taught Kristine many skills, from how to caulk and patch a wall and how to snake a drain, to standing up for what’s right, especially in the face of adversity. Thank you for sharing our wedding with us in this way.

Jeff Becker

Father of a bride

Jeff’s vibrant personality can bring any room to life. Kristine credits her dad with lighting the spark within her that became her passion for musical theatre via the A Chorus Line vinyl being played in their basement when she was little. Kristine is pleased as punch that he will walking her down the aisle.

Flower Flock

Lindsey, Hannah, Emily, Allison, Ava, and Clara

Within minutes of Amy and Kristine getting engaged, the six-pack of girls (nieces plus Clara) immediately decided that they would all be flower girls for the wedding, and dubbed themselves The Flower Flock. A few months passed, and the girls unionized, with Lindsey as their union representative, and the Flower Flock was officially part of the wedding. Each girl picked what color of the rainbow they wanted for their dress color (it happened *very* quickly, and without any arguments) and it has been an absolute blast to watch their planning shenanigans as they have fully embraced their self-appointed status as The Flower Flock.
