Great question, not awkward at all. Much better to ask here than on the day of the wedding, so good job you. Kristine has a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Since October of 2023 Kristine has been walking with a cane. In March 2025 her physical therapist and primary care physician, along with Kristine herself, determined that her cane wasn’t providing enough stability and that she required bilateral support, thus the forearm crutches. They are still pretty new and she is getting used to them, and she doesn’t use them 100% of the time, but they are a huge help for her regaining confidence in her mobility. Thanks for asking!
Yes they are! And what’s more, they were softened, dyed, arranged by Kristine (with some help from her mom, who arranged the multi-color arrangements) They are Sola Flowers brand. The flower heads were sent to kristine in bulk and were all smooshed up and strangely fragile. Kristine dipped them all, one by one, in a hot water bath solution of boiling water and “Sola Softener” to soften the petals. Once dry, they were once again dipped, this time in the dye. Once dry, the stems were hot glued on. Amy constructed and painted the centerpiece boxes, kristine arranged the bouquets.
