Kristin and Jamille met through mutual friends. They would often see each other at events for four years or so before they realized they were meant for each other. One fall evening, they bumped into each other at Drive Shack. Both were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. That night Jamille tried teaching Kristin how to hit a golf ball which was comedy in itself. She was wearing her cowgirl boots and certainly not listening. Needless to say, that is the night their friendship began to blossom into more. They were together from that moment on. Kristin was in college at that time working on another degree and so, the first part of their relationship was long distance. Kristin, Caraline, and baby Jet came home almost every weekend though. After she finished her college program, they moved back to Raleigh. Jamille thought it was a good idea at that time that they move in with him. That summer they made a big decision to buy a home together. After a year and a half, he asked Kristin to be with him forever! She said YES!
Jamille proposed in Savannah, Georgia on a dinner cruise. The weekend was planned as a birthday celebration for one of Kristin's best friends, Heather Mudd. Little did Kristin know Jamille and Heather had a surprise. They collaborated and planned the unexpected proposal ultimately deciding the already scheduled dinner cruise would be the perfect venue. After eating dinner, Jamille suggested that they should all go on the upper deck of the boat to take some selfies. Everyone agreed, however, when they walked upstairs, they found it packed with nowhere to sit. So, quick change of plans, they went back to second floor to take pictures. With a quick eye signal that this was the spot, Jamille and Kristin sat on a bench to take pictures while Heather began secretly recording from her vantage point. Jamille then commenced to pretend as if he was attempting to take a selfie with the video function selected. He knew Kristin (an unemployed paparazzi) would notice. On cue, she pointed out the mistake and began laughing. While still recording and pretending to switch hands, he said "Oops" and, with a quick sleight of hand, said "Here, hold this..." slipping her the ring box. Kristin was totally caught off guard and couldn’t even open the ring box. While she was stunned and confused trying to figure out what was going on, he dropped to his knee and asked her to marry him.
