Pearl Street is a GREAT place to explore in Boulder. There are tons of quaint shops, places to get post cards and stickers, AND some delicious food and coffee shops. You really can't go wrong spending the afternoon window shopping on Pearl Street!
Whether you choose the Boulder Avanti or the Denver Avanti, both have GREAT views, GREAT drinks, and GREAT food options! Avanti is a Denver staple with rooftop views to soak in.
Casa Bonita is a famous dinner and entertainment spot in Denver. Reservations fill up MONTHS in advance, so get a jump on those, however, you're not going to want to miss this one! From good drinks and Hispanic food to delicious sopapillas to cliff divers and live music, count yourself lucky if you're able to get a reservation here!
If you like ciders, or simply want GREAT food from a scratch kitchen AND great views of the mountains, this is the place for you! Stem/Acerage is SUCH a great place, SUPER family friendly, AND dog friendly! We can't recommend this place enough. This is where we bring my (Kristin's) parents whenever they're in Denver!
Want to feel like a Colorado native? Huckleberry Coffee is it. This roaster has multiple locations (Tennyson is my favorite), but each has stellar coffee and goodies (plus allergy friendly options!).
Want a stellar coffee for a great price? Or a morning waffle or burrito? Stylus and Crate is where Ian and I get coffee together nearly every Sunday morning together. The owners and workers are phenomenal. This has become a favorite location for us.
Safta is an INCREDIBLE Israeli restaurant that offers PHENOMENAL food! Ian and I both have a deep love for this restaurant and the flavors it offers. Make sure to get reservations!
Looking for wine, a cozy atmosphere, and some KILLER bruschetta? This is one of my (Kristin's) favorite spots. It's trendy and fun, a great place for a date night!
Middle State always has the FUNNEST signature coffee drinks! This place is a GREAT spot for a cozy coffee!
This Tea House is at the TOP of our bucket list, but sadly, we've haven't been yet! Grab a reservation and let us know how it is!
If you're wanting the FULL Colorado experience, you've got to try rock climbing! Ian and I aren't big rock climbers, but it is a classic Denver activity. My roommates LOVE Movement!
This is a great nature trail for anyone from out of town looking for an easy trail to adjust to elevation. This nature preserves allows for GREAT views and not steep trails to get you exercise without pushing limits. If you're doing this trail, don't miss spending some time in Evergreen! It's one of our favorite Colorado towns!
Hot springs are a MUST in Colorado! If you're looking for MAX relaxations, hot springs are for you! Glenwood Springs is gorgeous and such a stunning drive as well! You won't regret this trip.
If you're wanting to ski while you're here in Colorado, this is the place for you. Breckenridge is BY FAR our most favorite mountain to ski. It's beginner friendly but also has some GREAT blacks to try out! Rentals are super easy to coordinate at the base as well. PLUS, the town of Breck is probably the most Colorado town you'll find within driving distance of Denver.
Want to hike a glacier?! Don't worry, this trail is SUPER accessible (and was even hiked by one of my bridesmaids last year while pregnant!!). This trail is fairly easy and great for all hiking comfort levels. It's a short hike (less than 2 miles out and back) and has great views. PLUS, it's pretty sweet to say you've hiked a glacier.
This is a great, easily accessible hike for anyone. It's a little under 5 miles round trip if you hike from the base, but pro tip: you can drive directly up to the lake to still enjoy the views. GREAT spot to have a lunchtime picnic!
Brainard Lake Rec Area is a STUNNING place to explore. There are multiple hikes here, all of varying lengths. My favorite hike was the Blue Lake via Mitchell Lake Trail hike. SO beautiful and peaceful while only being 5 miles out and back! **PLEASE NOTE: reservations for timed entry are required (depending on the season). Please check at least two weeks in advance to confirm your entry!
Three Lakes Hike is our TOP recommendation for the BEST hike you could do in Colorado. This hike is STUNNING. Please note, it's in Rocky Mountain National Park, so you do need to check to see if there is a requirement for reservations for timed entry. You'll also need a National Parks Pass if you do choose to do this hike. It will be a day long commitment, but SO worth it! ** IF you do this hike, you HAVE TO stop at Ed's Cantina in Estes Park after and try their avocado margarita. We know it sounds weird, but trust us. If you like key lime pie, you won't regret it.
This Rec Area has a TON of great hiking options for all levels! It's a $10 parking pass but definitely worth the views and experience!
