This is the old walled city of Marrakech - built in 1122! It’s the main tourist section of the city and a lot of the other suggestions on this list will be found within the Medina.

Marrakech is known for its markets, known as Souks, that you’ll find in the Medina. During the day, over 3000 stalls sell everything from tagines and glassware to scarves and spices. The largest souk is Souk Semmarine, which has a lot of pottery and pastries and branches out to other souks from there for spices, textiles, and …everything. A lot of travelers sign up for guided tours through the souks by a local!
