Rental Car

Hertz/Sixt/All Major Companies

Rental cars in Ireland are expensive, so if traveling solo try to team up with other guests! Note that manual cars are much cheaper than automatics, they are catering to the American tourists with automatics. Your American license is fine for driving in Ireland, but make sure to get insurance at the counter when picking up the car - clipped wing mirrors is not unusual on these roads :) Many people ask whether they should get a car. We HIGHLY recommend doing so if you are spending a few days in the area. Public transport is not good, and bus tours just aren't the same. You will be more flexible and see more with a car - it is not as scary as it looks! An automatic car will give you the ability to simply concentrate on driving on the other side of the road. After a few hours you'll be used to it! We recommend booking directly with the carrier company rather than a "booking.com" or similar. Ireland has a special type of insurance, the car rental companies will give you the correct one.

Rental Car

Private Driver

If you're feeling this way inclined - please reach out to Kristina who will help to put you in contact with a good company.
