FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We’re going digital! Please RSVP online by March 1, 2025. If we don’t hear from you by then, we’ll have to mark you as a “no” to finalize numbers for our vendors. While we’d absolutely love to have you there, we need to keep things locked in—so don’t miss out, let us know if you’ll be there!

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

We’re keeping it sleek and chic: think black tie optional. All our guests will be dressed in black, so channel your inner classic glam! (Bonus points for long gowns and suits). We want everyone looking sharp but still comfortable enough to enjoy the evening. Feel free to accessorize with your favorite colors.

Question

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

It’s an outdoor celebration -- both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. One of the venues is a beautiful tented space located on Lake Lanier itself, offering stunning views. While early September in Georgia is typically warm, evenings can get cooler, so we recommend checking the weather forecast closer to the date and dressing accordingly for comfort.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Be fashionably on time! Arrivals are from 5:15 to 5:45 pm. We’ll start the ceremony at 6 pm sharp, so you don’t want to be caught rushing in with your shoes half-on.

Question

Are plus-ones invited?

Answer

We love the idea of you bringing your special someone, but please check your invitation to see if a +1 is included. We kept it intimate, so we had to make some tough calls—only if your invite says so!

Question

Can I bring the kiddos?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, this night is all about grown-up fun! Unless they’re on the invite or part of the bridal party, we kindly ask you to enjoy this evening with us (and book that babysitter for some well-deserved adult time!).

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

Yes, parking will be complimentary at Lanier Islands Resort for all guests. For your convenience, there will be designated parking available at both the ceremony and reception venues.

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Oh, you bet! We’ve planned a delicious dinner, dessert, and drinks all night long. Plus, there will be a cocktail hour with light appetizers to keep you fueled for fun from start to finish. Get ready for a menu that’s as memorable as the night itself.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

We want everyone to enjoy the food! If you have any dietary restrictions, please reach out to the bride ASAP to let us know, and we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Absolutely! We’re setting up a specialty bar that will be open following the ceremony. So whether you’re into signature cocktails or a classic drink, we’ve got you covered for a night full of toasts and cheers!

Question

Can we take photos at the wedding?

Answer

Yes, please do! We’d love for you to capture all the fun moments. Just a small request: please refrain from getting in the photographer’s way during the ceremony. Afterward, join in the fun with our photo scavenger hunt for some unique snaps and a fun prize!

Question

How's the weather in September?

Answer

It’s Georgia, so it could be warm and cozy or cool and crisp. Our wedding will be outside, so bring a light layer just in case it gets breezy. We’ll be prepared for anything, but we’re hoping for that perfect September evening!

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes! #BecomingBarnes captures our story, and we’d love for you to share your photos and moments with us through the night. Bring on the snapshots, and let’s make some memories!

Question

What if I’m running late?

Answer

Hey, life happens! If you’re running late, just slip in quietly during the ceremony. There will be plenty of time to join in and celebrate afterward. We’d rather have you late than miss out entirely!

Question

How should I be prepared for the sparkler send-off?

Answer

Get your sparkle on! We’ll be doing a sparkler send-off at 10:30 pm, so plan on being photo-ready. Our last dance will be your cue to get ready outside with a sparkler in hand to send us off in style!

Question

Who should I reach out to if I have more questions?

Answer

Feel free to reach out to the bride if you have any other questions. She’s got all the details and will be happy to help!
