We are getting married on the 27th of July 2024 in beautiful Estonia, our beloved home. We're over the moon to have our nearest and dearest join us for this celebration. Estonia holds a special place in our hearts, and we can't wait to share its magic with you all. Everything that happens is always for a reason and prepares for the next chapter of life. Kristiina hails from the heart of Estonia. Raised by super supportive parents, she has had the opportunity to explore everything that has ever sparked her soul - music, arts, sports, and countless other hobbies that have all shaped her curious mind. From a young age, she has been passionate about English, attending extra lessons and later enrolling in a special English high school, eventually living abroad in English-speaking environments. Little did she know that English would become her primary language at home. Her love for travel, learning, and embracing different cultures has made her open-minded. Studying journalism, communication, and marketing at the University of Tartu, selling books door-to-door in the US, babysitting and teaching in Spain, and spending half a year travelling the Philippines with a one-year-old... all these experiences have broadened her perspective, ultimately leading her to accept an offer for a drink from a foreigner settling in Estonia. Jonathan's path has largely been guided by his passions. His love for cycling has been a part of him since his early years. Hard work and determination have taken him to France and later across the globe. Being part of wonderful teams, working with interesting companies, and meeting great friends have all shaped his journey. His curious mind, along with his Estonian teammates, led Jonathan to Estonia several times until he made the decision to stay. Destiny, with its whimsical sense of humour, brought the two together. Rene and Jonathan ended up renting an apartment owned by none other than Kristiina's former boss, who spoke no English. Kristiina was asked to take charge of managing the unexpected foreign tenant. Months passed until Jonathan gathered the courage to ask Kristiina out. On the 14th of February 2014, a message was sent, proposing a drink. Though it took some time for their connection to develop into a serious relationship, nine years later, on the very same day, Jonathan asked Kristiina to be his forever valentine. And that, dear friends, is the story of how Ellis's dad met her mother and became a stepdad to Eliise —a story written by the choices they made, the places they explored, and the love that has grown with each passing day. As passionate travellers, Kristiina and Jonathan embarked on journeys together near and far, diving into marathon tourism, enjoying visits to friends and family in Estonia, England and Norway, spending two weeks in France every summer. Yet, despite their love for adventure, Estonia sits deep in their hearts. With its four distinct seasons, untouched landscapes, and the perfect blend of rapid growth and simple living with smart technology, Estonia captivated their souls in a way no other place could and they have settled here and created a home of their own. A cozy house just outside of Tartu city border is just right for everyday life and needs- close to nature and town at the same time. It is not only the spirit of Tartu that has won their hearts, but it is the Estonian islands as well that have truly enchanted them and keep calling them back for time off from every day hustle and bustle. Amidst Hiiumaa's pine forests and ancient stone walls, they found a magical spot—a fairy tale forest filled with junipers, pine trees, and moss-covered ground that will wait for its turn to add some magic to their life.
