Kristie & Drake met in high school in 2011. Drake was a football player and Kristie, a cheerleader (how cliche!). The two had known of each other and had made eye contact many times, but were both hesitant to talk to one another since they never saw each other outside of the school halls or at football games. In 2011, at the end of Drake's senior year, Drake was looking for a prom date and asked the teacher selling tickets how long he had to figure out who he would be asking. She informed him that he had 2 weeks left to buy tickets. That same day, the teacher instructing Kristie's dance class announced that she had met a really nice, handsome guy and that he was looking for a prom date. All the girls we're instantly intrigued. When the teacher said it was "Drake Estrada", Kristie turned to her best friend Vanessa and said "oh my gosh!". The teacher overheard Kristie's reaction and told her she would be perfect as his date! The teacher asked Kristie if she could take her to his classroom right then and there. Of course, Kristie was much too shy & declined the offer. Later that night, Kristie decided to message Drake on Facebook and jokingly asked him why her dance teacher told the girls about his quest for a prom date. And that's where it all began... Drake asked Kristie to prom after his water polo game in front of all their friends 2 weeks later. The two went to prom together and had the best night! In 2013, 2 years later, they saw each other again through mutual friends on Kristie's 19th birthday. They haven't gone a day without talking ever since.

On 12/28/2019, exactly 6 and a half years after the two had started dating, Drake surprised Kristie by getting down on one knee and asking her to be his wife at Maple Lake. Of course, Kristie said YES!!!!! 💍 Drake asked Kristie's sister (Stephanie) and brother-in-law (Scott) to hide out nearby and capture the special moment. Once Kristie said yes, these two popped out from the bushes with their camera and made the moment even more of a surprise! We are so so excited for this next chapter in our lives and we are so happy to have you help us celebrate it on July 17th, 2021! See you on the dance floor! 💕
