A must visit! Hoi An is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and also where Kristie's dad grew up! This city an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign. The best time to go is early mornings with breakfast and coffee spots open without the crowd (and heat), and around dusk to see the lanterns turned on. It is about a 35-45 minute Grab ride from the Hyatt.

You can rent beach chairs at designated areas along My Khe Beach, particularly near the lifeguard stands or in front of hotels and resorts. The Marble Mountains are a famous cluster of natural and spiritual sites. The Dragon Bridge was designed in the shape of a dragon and spans across the Han River. The fire show happens every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Head to the bridge and feel the heat from the dragon as it shoots fire into the sky. the bridge closes to traffic in both directions, allowing pedestrians to enjoy the spectacle up close. After, the dragon sprays water, so be prepared to get a bit wet or keep your distance if you want to stay dry. It’s a fun 15-minute display.
Son Tra Night Market is one of the best places to experience Da Nang’s evening charm. Located near the famous Dragon Bridge, it brings together local street food, souvenirs, live music, and riverfront scenery in one walkable space. The best time to visit Son Tra Night Market is between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
Lady Buddha (or the statue of the Goddess of Mercy) is the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam. Located in the Linh Ung Pagoda, this 67 meter tall site stands on the Son Tra Peninsula, overlooking the beautiful sea and mountains of the area. This statue can be seen from miles away. One of the incredible things about the Lady Buddha is that the entire thing was constructed using a single piece of marble.
Considered Vietnam’s most significant archaeological site, the My Son ruins mark the chief place of worship for the former ruling Champa Kingdom. The Champa were an Indianized kingdom who reigned over southern and central Vietnam from the 7th century and into the early 19th century. Half day trips to My Son are popular.
