Let's celebrate!

We used to tell everyone we met at a bar - which technically is true - but before the bar came a little app called Tinder. Hey, there's no shame in our game! It was the summer of '16. Tom was new-ish to GR and Kristi was exploring her options. Her profile had photos of hiking and puppies (he thought she had a dog and was outdoorsy), his photos showed off his dimples and trips abroad (she thought he was cute and worldly) - one of us was correct - but hey, it worked - two "swipe rights" and it's a match. Our first date was at a new brewery in town. We instantly hit it off and planned our second date before the night's end. The rest is history.

It was the first full day in Bar Harbor, the last stop on our road trip up the coast of Maine. On the agenda: hike to the top of South Bubble Mountain in Acadia National Park. Tom was excited, Kristi was nervous (standard). After a 500ft vertical climb, literally scaling up the side, we made it to the top. After taking a few photos, we continued on to the north peak. Once there, Tom suggested we take a photo to mark our accomplishment. While posing for the "self-timed picture" he grabbed her hand and popped the question. Queue blackout. At some point she managed to come to and say "yes." Thanks to his covert skills, that "picture" was actually a video so we can re-watch the moment for years to come.
