The Setting: A CrossFit Gym in Schenectady NY (CrossFit 518, now known as CrossFit Hardwired) The WOD (workout of the day) was a partner workout for time of a 200 m run, 100 wall balls, 50 pull ups, 400 m run, 75 wall balls, 50 pull ups, 600 m run, 50 wall balls, and 50 pull ups. Kristi and Don both happened to show up that day-- Don, new to CrossFit, and Kristi, just plain mediocre even though she'd been doing it for over a year. Their coach, Jenna, thought it was wise to partner the newbie with Kristi, and as much as Kristi would like to think it was bonding over wall balls, the actual love story was a long way off. The two started off as friends, became workout partners for life (WP4L), and over time, realized that there was more between the them Don's sarcasm and sweat angels. Their chemistry in the gym translated well to their chemistry outside of the gym-- much of the bonding over shared brussel sprouts at CoreLife or hummus at Karams.
