Wirtz, VA is in Franklin county Virginia, close to Smith Mountain Lake. There are lots of cute Bed and Breakfast options around the Smith Mountain Lake area, and on the other side of Wirtz in Rocky Mount, VA. There are also several commercial hotels if that is your preference, as well as options for Air-BnB, and VRBO in the surrounding small towns. The largest cities nearby are: Bedford, VA at a 20-30 minute drive, Roanoke, VA a 25-40 minute drive,
and Lynchburg, VA where we live, a 50 minute drive.
For Flights, be looking at options to fly into -Roanoke, VA (34 minute drive to wedding), -Greensboro, NC (1hr 34min), - Raleigh, NC (2hr 30min) - Charlottesville, VA (2hr 11min) or - Richmond, VA (3hr 12min). We may be able to pick up some guests to get to hotels, depending on where your flight lands and where you are staying, we will do our best to help with travel arrangements, however we recommend a rental car, since the wedding is in a very rural part of Virginia.
