5:00 pm
Get creative with your beautiful but comfortable attire, ranging from rustic country chic, to vintage woodland elegance. The Bridal party will be in fall colors and nice boots, with long dresses for the ladies, and sport coats for the gentlemen. However, when the dancing starts I wouldn't be surprised to see those coats come off, and maybe even some bare feet! We don't recommend pointy heels.
There are two driveways to pull in, we will put out signs to direct you. If you are driving West (from Smith Mountain Lake), then the second driveway on the right is the least walking. We plan to reserve spaces for anyone with mobility issues, and if needed we can give you a ride by golf cart. It's a big property, and there is a bit of walking over rough terrain from the parking, to the ceremony site, and then again walking to the reception. Follow the signs to the ceremony, stopping and signing our guest log before taking your seats. Kids 2-10 grab your special ceremony gift bag by the guest log! Ben and Kristi would like this to be a beautiful, but still comfortable occasion, no need to get formal. There is no groom side or bride side, sit anywhere except the first few rows which will be reserved for relatives of the Bride and Groom. "Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!" -Psalm 47:1 Please answer all RSVP questions below.
6:00 pm
After the Ceremony, someone will lead you around the pond and through the gate, leading to the woods. Follow the path lined with flowers and lights, to the reception area. On the way down note the bathrooms, on the right side of the path. Any one who needs a ride down in the golf cart don't worry, we got you!
The Bride and Groom, will get some photos with their families, and bridal party for a short time after the ceremony, please feel free to start eating the cookies and drinking cold and warm drinks that will be provided, while playing yard and board games! Don't be shy, after today we are all family! Ben and Kristi, plan to join you quickly, and then we will all have our BBQ dinner! Enjoy the Buffet food, Smoked BBQ Chicken. With comfort food sides and plenty of veggies for those who want them. Stay hydrated with iced and hot beverages! There is no need for alcohol, because the joy of the occasion is the only intoxicant we need! "Go and celebrate with a feast of choice food and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” -Nehemiah 8:10
9:45 pm
Back at the pond where the ceremony was held, the same truck that the Bride got out of for the ceremony, will be turned around and ready for the happy couple to drive off together. Gather along the path by the gate and pond, to throw confetti in the air in celebration of their union. Ben and Kristi will say goodbye, and get into the truck to head out of town for their Honeymoon.
Someone will announce when The Bride and Groom are almost ready to leave and its time to start lining up and to get your confetti by 9:45pm at the latest. We are going to try to have the path back to the pond well lit, but it will be dark so you may want to bring a small flashlight or use your cell phone light. If you need to leave earlier, then we understand! 10PM is late for some! Come say goodbye to Ben and Kristi before you leave, we don't want to miss saying goodbye to you, and giving you one more hug! Thank you for helping us celebrate this day, and the Lord uniting our family together in Holy Matrimony!
