Hotel
We have a room block for 8/23/24 and 8/24/24. The resort requires a $25 per day resort fee. There is an onsite gym, spa and guests can use the Westin pool/hot tub (which is open 24/7) throughout your stay. You can also use the water slide next door at the Sheraton. The Westin gave us a reduced self parking fee ($19) not reflected on the website. Please let us know if you have any issues booking.
Travel Note
AirBnBs are scarce because of San Diego rental laws but are still available if interested. Recommend planning far ahead as August is a busy season in San Diego. Anywhere in the Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas/Leucadia area will be an Uber's distance to the venue, welcome drinks and after party.
Train
North County Transit operates a train from San Diego - Santa Fe Depot to Carlsbad Village Station hourly. Tickets cost $2 - $6 and the journey takes 57 min. Alternatively, Amtrak operates a bus from Santa Fe Depot, CA to Oceanside Amtrak Station once daily, and the journey takes 1h.
Rental Car
Renting a car is a great way to see all that San Diego has to offer. If coming in ahead of 8/23, folks will be staying in Pacific Beach, San Diego. This area is 20 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from Carlsbad. If renting a car, definitely recommend budgeting some time and driving up the Pacific Coast Highway 1 - it's breathtaking!
Travel Note
Uber and Lyft is another option to get all around town. An Uber from the Airport or Pacific Beach to Carlsbad will typically cost $40 - $70 depending on time of day and traffic.
