Our Biggest Fans

Kelsey Kreider

Matron of Honor

Kelsey is Kristen’s much, much younger sister. They share a love of knitting and amassing massive quantities of yarn (Editors note: Kelsey has a very reasonable yarn stash. The same cannot be said for Kristen). Kelsey is so happy that Kristen has found Jarrett, who is almost worthy of such a beautiful, unique person.

Amanda Platt-Tabeling

Bridesmaid

I knew Kristen and Jarrett before they were a couple through my partner, Nate’s, D&D group back in 2017. From there, I saw their relationship transform from players in the same dungeon to boyfriend and girlfriend and now, soon, husband and wife! Once covid hit in 2020, Kristen and I started hanging out more since she lived in Towson, having weekly dinners and eventually knit nights. It was 2020 when her relationship with Jarrett evolved into the relationship we all see today. I still remember getting the text that they were official boyfriend-girlfriend while Nate and I were driving to New Hampshire in October that year! Kristen and Jarrett are our closest Baltimore friends and we get to enjoy each other’s company often. Whether it is dinner at one of our houses, a game night, a camping trip, or an O’s game, I enjoy their company immensely and love our time together. I am so happy and excited for their next chapter as husband and wife and am blessed to have them in my life! <3

Laura Whitney

Bridesmaid

Laura met Kristen when they started a new job on the same day fresh out of grad school. They had adjoining offices and almost immediately became friends, and the friendship has continued to develop over the years. Since then they have enjoyed many meals, laughs, tears, high teas, Stephen King books, adventures, and pictures of each other's cats! As someone who has been lucky enough to witness the development of Kristen and Jarrett’s relationship over the years, Laura couldn’t be happier to see them get married and can’t wait for the big day!

Wesley Brooks

Best Man

Wes & Jarrett first met in college art classes at Lander University (a small college in a just as small a town). Their first real date was when Jarrett asked Wes to go with him to a private screening of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Wes knew at that moment they'd be friends for life. Later on Wes started working at Blockbuster Video where Jarrett was a manager. Eventually despite Wes being a terrible employee they got an apartment together. Over the course of 2.5ish years near weekly apartment complex block parties were had, countless 20 sided die were cast, many strange food experiments were shared & one very large back yard retaining wall mural was painted. They eventually moved to their individual locations but have always stayed in close contact, being some of the only people that each other actually talk on the phone with on a regular basis. Wes is incredibly happy for Jarrett & Kristen & is honored to be part of their big day.

Nathaniel Tabeling

Best Man

I met Jarrett when he messaged a stranger on the internet looking for a D&D group after moving to Baltimore. Fortunately, neither of us were catastrophically weird, even if the rest of that group was, and we were able to build a friendship that doesn’t disproportionately rely on Wizards of the Coast for scaffolding. Despite no longer committing hours of each week to TTRPGs I still consider Jarrett to be one of my closest friends and am so glad he found a partner like Kristen who not only tolerates, but actively encourages and participates in, his goofs. I am excited to see them start the next stage of their lives together and am looking forward to what will surely be a memorable wedding.

John Bettridge

Groomsman

I was finishing my Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine when I met Jarrett after we both responded to an ad for a local Baltimore D&D game, becoming fast friends very quickly. One night, after a few too many cocktails, we decided to start a “little side project” called Dice Dungeons. 7 years and 50,000 dice sets later, we are now long-time business partners and still play in the same game that started in 2016. I have my doctorate now and work for the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine, but the first thing I always tells people about is the company we built, because I am so proud of what that “little project” has become (and no one wants to hear about cow drugs). Outside of work I have a delightful son, John Luc, who is my favorite adventuring partner. I enjoy fishing, looking for fossils, playing Pokémon with my son, and of course writing Dungeons and Dragons material for Dice Dungeons.

Laura Page

Officiant

LP has been sailing the high seas for over a decade and has been called upon to perform the wedding ceremony as part of her captain duties. Even though she hasn’t married anyone before, she is delighted to be chosen for the honor of bringing Kristen and Jarrett together in matrimony. She is excited to start them on their next adventure together of tying the knot!
