FAQs

Question

What's the plan for the big day?

Answer

The ladies will be getting ready in one of the cottages (hair and makeup will start around 10am). Snacks and drinks will be provided. The boys will likely have a more relaxed day; stay tuned for plans!

Question

What can we expect at the reception?

Answer

As you might imagine, a 16-person wedding won't be (too) wild an affair. After the ceremony, we'll drive in to Anemone where we'll have a cocktail hour, followed by dinner, cake and coffee/drinks. The venue is booked until 11 pm, and we'll have transportation waiting to take everyone back to Oceanstone. There won't be any formal dancing, etc., though we welcome you to bust a move to our Spotify playlist if the mood strikes! Also, feel free to send any song requests our way!

Question

How will I get around?

Answer

Renting a car is the best way to get around the area before/after the wedding, though there are Ubers and Taxis. On the day of the wedding, we'll have SUVs to shuttle folks to and from Anemone in Halifax, which is about a 40-minute drive from Oceanstone (though you're of course welcome to drive yourself if you'd prefer).

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Chris and Kristen will be the ones in the suit and white dress (respectively), but feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable. We recommend checking the weather, as temperatures can vary quite a bit in September. We do have an indoor backup venue at Oceanstone if it's raining. Also, keep in mind the ceremony will be on grass, so exercise caution in heels!

Question

When do I get to share my embarrassing stories about Kristen or Chris?

Answer

There's no obligation for anyone to make a speech, but if you'd like to say a few words, we'd love to hear them during the reception!

For all the days along the way
