After accidentally ghosting Joel for a few weeks, Kristen agreed to meet Joel for the first time at Stave Wine Bar. The two spent an evening talking and laughing. Kristen broke tradition and texted Joel the very next morning.

In July 2018, Joel and Kristen took their first vacation together. They spent seven wonderful days in Colorado exploring museums and hiking!

After a nice dinner at Reality Bites, Joel told Kristen that he had an early Christmas present for her. He pulled a small red box from under the Christmas tree at their home and as she opened it, he asked if she would marry him. Of course - she said yes...after a really long pause where Kristen smiled and cried. She thought the yes was implied!

On August 26, 2020, Joel & Kristen closed on their first house. This 1955 brick home is perfect for the two of them and they were excited to finally have Joel's cat from college, Bubbles, move in with them.
