We met officially in 2010 after a short visit to the island with my parents and brother in 2003. We have Marine Biology to thank. Our four parents are Marine Biologists and all studied on the west coast of Puerto Rico. Our parents met in La Parguera, and introduced us via my godmothers Denise and Graciela during my 2010 visit. I had asked my godmothers to get info on the cute teenager, 4 years my elder, that I had met when I was 12. We met up and it was electric from the beginning. We shared conversations on EVERY topic imaginable, loved to laugh and make others feel at ease, and most importantly, we knew how special this connection was, from the very beginning. I moved to Los Angeles, from Buenos Aires and in between is right when this happened. I arrived in LA and we each continued to live our own lives til...4 years later, we reconnected on Facebook. We bonded over the loss of my great grandmother, Melita (Carmelita, from Carmen) and his grandmother Carmen. They had both been an important part of our lives and through texts and calls we kept each other company. After 2.5months of this, I decided, "Ok, enough. I'm going to Puerto Rico to see if this is more than temporary." 2 weeks of complicity brought us so close together, we decided we didn't want it to end. We made a pact and started a long distance relationship where we saw each other every 3-4months. 1.5 years later, Ian was hired as a Veterans Affairs employee and we began our life together. We are so excited to continue building memories together with YOU there. (Kristelle)
