As part of her life-long work as a community organizer, Mary F. Grimm (Stacey's grandmother) co-founded Riverway Communities of Hope. RCoH provides activities and education related to the prevention of substance abuse and suicide, as well as substance abuse and mental health treatment to children and youth in rural Southwestern Wisconsin. In addition to hosting supervised activities on school early release days, RCoH coordinates with local schools to identify youth and families in need of counseling, paying for treatment provided by trained therapists, and assisting with travel costs. As of 2019, RCoH paid for appointments (and/or transportation to treatment) 1,602 times for a total expenditure of $159,251. Counseling costs average $100 per session.
