We met at our first jobs out of college in January 2018, working at a PR agency in the Huntington Building in Cleveland! On Kris’s first day, the team sent Sam to take him to lunch and “help break him out of his shell.” Our story grew from that first lunch into countless lunches, coffee runs, and baseball games - going from coworkers to friends, to (as we joke) being the last two to realize we had feelings for each other :)

We set out for some Colorado fall “leaf peeping,” but Kris had a bigger surprise planned! He found the perfect spot from one of our favorite hikes the year before, made sure Sam’s hiking fit was ready, and even coordinated to have people there to capture the moment (thanks Andy + Kaylie for waking up at 5 AM for us!). Surrounded by golden Aspen trees and overlooking Lake Dillon, Kris popped the question. Sam’s response? Happy tears, a VERY excited “YES!,” and about 15 rounds of saying “NO WAY!” We celebrated at our favorite dinner spot, Spuntino, later that evening.
