How will we get to the venue from our hotel ?

Answer

We unfortunately will only be able to provide transportation for the bridal party :( Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, but there will be plenty of parking at the venue, and Lyfts/Ubers are typically plentiful in the area! :) We are so sorry if this adds any inconvenience, but here is our wedding Lyft discount code: KRISTINAMIKE8621 which you can enter in the REWARDS section of the Lyft app when requesting a ride. What if it rains?

Answer

No worries! The expertise of our wedding planner Emily and the staff at Longshore will make sure it still a beautiful day with lots of celebrating. Just with an umbrella in hand :)

What if it is really hot?

Answer

Don't sweat it! We will make sure there are cold water stations, fans and shade to accommodate our wonderful guests! It will be a short ceremony so don't worry about being out in the sun for too long ;)

Are kids welcome?

The only guests who can bring their kiddos have been notified :)

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless we have sent you a plus one in the formal invitation, then the answer is no, and we kindly ask if you don't inquire further.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have wedding blocks at The Delamar, Residence Inn and The Inn at Longshore. Please refer to the accommodations page. *All of those who reserved a room last year were automatically changed to the date for this year! But please call the hotel to confirm this. *As a reminder the Westport Inn has closed, and we ask that you make reservations at the Residence Inn.

Answer

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know what your dietary restrictions are on your RSVP card.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is parking at the ceremony. If you need handicapped parking please notify the bride and groom in any way. We would like to be as helpful as possible in this regard!

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

The Inn at Longshore is handicap accessible to all event spaces. Please contact the bride or groom if you have any further questions about accessibility at our wedding!

Do we need to have a negative COVID-19 test before attending the wedding?

Answer

If you are fully vaccinated, we will not require a negative COVID test to attend. If you have not received the full doses on the vaccine, we ask that you are tested within 48 hours before the event and wear a mask throughout.

Where can I get a COVID test?

Answer

We recommend that our guests research on their own to find a COVID test location that is suitable for them, ensuring insurance coverage. There is a possibility that rapid tests will be more readily accessible, such as home tests, which means we may be able to provide testing for our guests, but currently this is not feasible. Do I need a PCR test or will a rapid COVID test suffice?

Answer

While the PCR test is more accurate and we encourage all guests to receive this test, we understand this may not be possible. We will accept a negative rapid test. Keep in mind that accessibility to rapid PCR tests may improve over the course of this year, so we may change our requirements leading up to the wedding. Continue to check this website for details as they may change.

Who will I give my negative COVID test results to?

Answer

On 8.6.21, you will be asked at the door by a member of the venue's staff upon entering.

How many people will be attending the wedding?

Answer

As of right now we have close to 200 people on the guest list. We will modify numbers to be aligned with State laws and regulations, but also keeping in mind what we feel comfortable with depending on the situation we are in in August. This may mean changes to the guest list. We apologize ahead of time if we are forced to reduce numbers. We hope to keep every one of our guests, but we are prepared to make necessary changes for everyone's safety. Invitations are sent out and if you have not received yours by 6.1.21, please reach out to us :)

What if I am traveling in by plane or train?

Answer

We just ask that you receive a negative Covid test upon your arrival if you have no received full doses of the COVID vaccine, while adhering to all travel restrictions.

Will I have to wear a mask?

Answer

Currently in the state of Connecticut, it is no longer mandated that all guests must wear a mask outside when around other people who are vaccinated or those who are low risk. This may change by August, so please check the website as we approach the wedding date. We ask that you wear a mask if you are not fully vaccinated by the time of our wedding. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask even if vaccinated, by all means. We will have extra masks at the venue.

Will it be outside?

Answer

As of right now, yes! Our venue has set up a beautiful tent outside to avoid gathering indoors. The tent is located on the grounds of the Inn at Longshore. Please check this website for any changes as we approach the wedding.

What if I do not feel comfortable attending?

Answer

Please know that we absolutely understand concerns leading up to an event of over 100 people. We may be out of the woods in August, but anxiety can linger. We are very optimistic, but we understand the hesitancy of others. Please do not feel pressured to attend. We will not be offering a virtual experience of the wedding, but we will be sure to share lots of pictures :) Additionally, if you would like to attend the ceremony, but not the reception, you absolutely can, and we will be sure to seat you at a distance from the rest of the guests. Rest assured that we will not move forward with the reception if it is unsafe to do so. Safety is 100% our top priority.
