Current projections make us feel comfortable moving forward with our 8.6.21 wedding date with a full 200 person guest list! This is of course dependent on state regulations remaining as is. As of right now, the wedding will take place outdoors at the same venue with a beautiful tent set up. This could change dependent on the venue and weather, and we ask that you check back on this website for more details as we approach the wedding date. As for attending the wedding, if you did not receive full doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine before our wedding date you must wear a mask the entire time to protect yourself and get a COVID test before your arrival. There will be children younger than 12-years-old in attendance, and it is up to us, the hosts, to ensure everyone is safe. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding these rules. Hygiene stations with the necessary PPE (masks, hand sanitizer, etc.) will be set up throughout the venue. Please have your vaccination card available (you can present a picture of it on your phone if you prefer not to carry the physical card) or confirmation of a negative test result once at the venue (in a private manner of course). Please look under FAQs where you can find nearby COVID-19 testing centers and more information regarding our safety plan. Please reach out to Dorothy, the mother of the bride, (phone number 203.858.3726) if you have further questions regarding the precautions we made to ensure the safety of our guests. Everyone's safety is our top priority, and with these precautions, we hope you will join us in some MUCH DESERVED FUN! Thank you for bearing with us! Love, K+M
Buzz buzz! We met on Bumble! Based on some well curated profile pictures, a clever opener, and lack of creepy vibes, a connection was quickly made! Watch "The Office"? Check. Ran the 2016 NYC Marathon? Check. Attraction? DUH. After some back and forth, Mike asked me on a date to the Penrose on the Upper East Side. The night of 4.6.17 started with me running 10 minutes late (classic), and ended with a kiss in front of my UES apartment. Cut to two years and four months later... our engagement party with our friends and family, was held at the Penrose, where it all began! Scroll down for more on the engagement...
On Wednesday, August 14, 2019... I was coming back from a yoga class and thought I was headed to celebrate a new job with tacos and margaritas with two of our best friends. I got home, saw that Mike was way more dressed up than I anticipated (guess he was really excited about my new job!), so I had to rethink my outfit as jean shorts no longer seemed appropriate... I showered, threw on a WHITE simple dress and spent a bit more time on my hair that I had planned. This all led to some rushing on my part. Mike on the other hand was enjoying a beer, playing some of our favorite music and seemed to be unbothered by my rushing around (thinking back he didn't sit down once during that time...) When Mike asked to show me something with his binoculars (yes binoculars) on our balcony, I stomped out there. Mike asked, "Why are you grumpy?" and I said "We are going to be late!" Then Mike continued with what would be the most fantastic surprise proposal ever... I may have blacked out in excitement, but it went something like this... "Well you don't have to rush anymore, we aren't going for tacos. I've been meaning to ask you something..." Mike got on one knee, asked me to marry him with the ring of my dreams. I said YES (cue the hugs, kisses and tears) and Mike pointed up to his GoPro in the corner of the balcony which was capturing the whole thing and then down at the Penrose, which we can see from our balcony, where our closest family and friends were waiting to celebrate us :) Mike had flowers, champagne and a surprise trip to Nantucket planned to make this moment even more special. He. Nailed. It.
We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone we love at the gorgeous Inn at Longshore! Bring your dancing shoes and best moves because we won't be leaving the dance floor!
