FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail/Formal Attire: Think fancy garden party! Cocktail dresses, maxi to floor-length gowns, suits, or jackets and slacks are all perfect choices. Feel free to embrace color, florals, or whatever makes you feel confident - we're just excited to celebrate with our favorite people.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive between 4:00 and 4:10 PM to allow time for seating before the ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place in the greenhouse portion of MyMoon, which has a retractable roof and AC. The reception is indoors. If the weather is good (fingers crossed!), portions of the celebration may extend into the venue's beautiful courtyard and patio area.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

While we wish we could celebrate with everyone, like many NYC venues, our space has a limited capacity. To keep the celebration intimate, we're only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding, and we're so excited to celebrate with you!

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

MyMoon is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and is easily accessible by subway, rideshare, taxi, or car. Detailed transportation information on which stop to get off at, nearby parking garages, and walking directions can be found on our Travel page.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

For most guests, we recommend LaGuardia (LGA) or JFK. See our Travel page for more info. If flying domestically: LaGuardia (LGA) is usually the easiest and most convenient option. It's the closest major airport to Brooklyn and Manhattan, and rideshares are often faster and less expensive than from JFK. If flying internationally: JFK generally offers the most international flights and nonstop routes. You can take the Airtrain to get into the city. Rideshares tend to be more expensive.

Question

I see some Airbnb listings...are they legit?

Answer

You can try your luck, but most of them are not legal. New York City has strict short-term rental regulations, and most listings for stays under 30 days are illegal or subject to cancellation. We generally recommend hotels for the smoothest experience.

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

Street parking may be available but can be limited. Please see the Travel page for a couple of parking garage recommendations. We're big fans of public transportation whenever possible - other options include rideshare (Uber, Lyft, and Curb) or taxis.

Question

What's the best way to get to New York from Boston?

Answer

We highly recommend Amtrak! The Northeast Regional and Acela both offer convenient service between Boston and NYC (and save you from having to deal with a car in NYC). Book early for the best fares.

Question

Should I get a rental car?

Answer

Probably not. We highly recommend using the subway, rideshare services, or taxis during your stay. Parking can be limited in Williamsburg, and NYC is generally easiest to navigate without a car.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We've reserved hotel blocks at the Livingston Hotel and Moxy Williamsburg. You're also welcome to book independently - there are a lot of great hotels (and more affordable - just didn't offer a room block) within a short distance of the venue. We're staying at the Box House Hotel, which offers suite/apartment-style living, but is a little pricier. See our Travel page for recommendations and booking links.

Question

What neighborhood should I stay in?

Answer

For the easiest access to the venue, we recommend Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Long Island City, Downtown Brooklyn, or Lower Manhattan. Staying near the L or G subway lines makes getting to MyMoon especially convenient.

Question

And most importantly...what's for dinner? Is there an open bar?

Answer

Amazing Spanish food - tapas, family-style! We'll have sangria and passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a family-style dinner, dessert, and an open bar with beer and wine. Please indicate any dietary restrictions when you RSVP, and we'll do our best to accommodate them.

Question

Who should I contact if I have questions on the wedding day?

Answer

Please reach out to a member of the wedding party, our on-site coordinator (Lee), or our day-of-coordinator (Lou), rather than the couple so we can stay focused on celebrating with everyone.
