A timeless love story. Sometime in the Fall of 2017, Erin and Bryce connected through a magical place called the Internet . After a week or two of texting, Erin ghosted Bryce as his personality was abrasively appalling. A few months later, however, Bryce resurfaced randomly by sending a picture of a house decorated with a full recreation of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (complete with a woody station wagon and Cousin Eddie emptying a Winnebago) as he knew this would spark Erin's interest. (See photo below) As fate would have it, they began chatting again and Erin discovered that Bryce was dealing with some health issues (the infamous knee surgeries). Partly out of pity but also a desire to experience Bryce in such a pathetic state, she agreed to sushi at his inconveniently located residence in Bethel Park. Erin, cautiously not dismissing the possibility that Bryce was a psychopath, provided her best friends with his information, just in case. Bryce was still hobbling about on crutches not posing a threat so Erin, wary from her travels, fell asleep on the couch ruining Bryce's TV stories with her snoring. Though she was unsure about her feelings concerning Bryce, Erin decided to let things develop as she was quite smitten with Bowie. Less than a month later, Erin was Bryce’s last minute emergency contact as he had taken an Uber to the hospital for his third debridement surgery and the staff would not allow him to Uber home afterwards. (Smart move by the staff as he ended up with an unplanned wound vac.) So Erin once again took pity on this sad man, left work early to retrieve him and a car load of medical supplies. Erin became Bryce's de facto caregiver, his own Florence Nightingale, over the next several weeks as the surgeries mounted and health issues intensified. After nursing him back to health, Erin realized she was in too deep to back out and Bryce recognized her as the best thing to ever happen to him. So here they are, six short years later, getting married.
Bryce and Erin escaped the Labor Day weekend crowds at Presque Isle and lucked into finding a secluded spot on the Lake Erie shore in the very northwest corner of PA. Bryce was wandering the shore with the dogs and picking through the rocks as he often does (seriously). Erin, bored from sitting alone, began inhaling her lunch unaware that Bryce wished for her to come nearer. Eventually, Bryce decided to make his way closer to Erin. Needing something from the car, Erin came over to demand the keys. Bryce seized the opportunity to proudly share his haul of rocks. "I found a bunch of cool rocks" he said as he proceeded to display them each individually and place them in Erin's hands. Erin, disinterested in Bryce's endeavors said, "Cool. Can I have the car keys?" Bryce then said "Check out this rock" as he produced the ring that was hidden in his palm. Erin rolled her eyes and laughed before becoming excited and accepting the proposal. Later, Erin yelled at Bryce for combing the shore for rocks all while holstering a diamond in his palm.
