Co-Matron of Honor
Lindsey is one of the older sisters. We constantly fought as kids so if you told me then that we would have the relationship we do today, I would have laughed. It took moving away to college and having to make brand new friends in a very unfamiliar environment for me to truly value her as my familiar and constant. I can't imagine my wedding day without her.
Co-Matron of Honor
Jaime is one of my younger sisters, but solely on a technicality. We were born in the same year, and I'm only 10 months older, so that makes us Irish Twins. Plus, she acts older, bypasses me in height, and can beat me up. But she's also the strongest, and most grounded person I know and has never marched to anyone's drum but her own. So she may be younger, but I learn from her.
Maid of Honor
We met in college. She moved into my room at the sorority house where we were forced to get to know each other due to the lack of a TV. We eventually got a TV, but by that point, we didn't even miss it. We were attached at the hip and served as each other's entertainment for our remaining years of college. She's been everything to me since. Dan signed up for us BOTH when he pursued a relationship with me. He knows this.
Bridesmaid
Brandi is my oldest sister. I have looked up to her in every aspect of my life, mostly because we are so similar and I'm kinda hoping she's the future me. She also owns her own wedding planning business, so her role in this wedding is multifaceted and the smallest bit self-serving. I am so lucky to have her.
Bridesmaid
We met in college but our relationship didn't truly blossom until after college. That's how you know it's the real deal. SHE is the real deal. Out of all of my friends, Casey and I are the most alike. Lucky me.
Bridesmaid
She was one of the very first people I ever met in college and we basically shared a wall for 5 years straight. We were dorm-room neighbors freshman year, moved into our sorority house where we lived across the hall from each other sophomore year, off-campus house-mates junior and senior year. And then we got an apartment together in Alexandria, VA where we lived for the year following college until she moved back in with her parents and I moved into the house where I met Dan. So one could conclude that I met Dan because Sarah decided to move out.
Bridesmaid
We were paired as "big / little" sisters in college. That's sorority lingo for any of you GDIs. Well, college and sorority life ended a long time ago .. but she has always remained my number one fan and continues to cheer me on from afar, just like a big sister does. It was important to me that I had this kind of cheerleader in my bridal line.
Bridesmaid
I've known Jessie since 7th grade. We met in Virginia Beach where I lived for exactly 1 year before returning to Maryland. To be accurate, I should mention that I lived with her in her family's home for a good 11 months of that 1 year. Well, 1 year was clearly all it took to jump start a 15 year (and counting) long distance relationship. Outside of family, our friendship is the longest relationship I've ever had.
Bridesmaid
We met at Macy's! Meagan and my relationship is one of my newer relationships. It wasn't until about a year of knowing each other, and her and her husband moving down the street from Dan and me that we really hit it off. They will forever be known as our "couple friends" because it's one of our first friendships that we as a couple grew close to together.
Bridesmaid
I met Taylor on my very first day at Macy's. We had extremely similar backgrounds, both coming from the defense-contracting world in Northern Virginia and moving to NYC to pursue "the dream". We started the same day at Macy's for the same team, in the same job. Cue the competitive and (at times) bad blood relationship that transpired. Had we never found our shared love for chasing away work related stress with after-work drinks, we wouldn't be here today. Alcohol might have started this love affair, but what good story started with "we bonded over a salad"?
