Midtown, Sacramento is about a 25 minute drive from Woodland. It's one of our favorite spots to go for a night out! Some of our favorite restaurants are LowBrau, Midtown's Cantina Alley, and Sauced BBQ & Spirits. Some popular bars are The Jungle Bird, Dive Bar, and Iron Horse Tavern. Our favorite breweries are Fieldwork Brewing Company, Device Brewing, and SacYard Community Tap House. There are so many other restaurants, shops, and experiences in Midtown, all walking distance in the downtown area. There are Ubers, Lyfts, and electric scooters to get around, too!
Visit Sutter's Fort! This is in downtown Sacramento and very close to the State Capitol building. This is where John Sutter, the person who discovered gold in California and started the gold rush, built his agricultural establishment. This is also where Rebecca takes her 4th graders on a field trip each year! The picture above is her class from a couple years ago at Sutter's Fort!
Lake Tahoe is a bit of a drive, but worth it if you've never been there. Sunnyside is the restaurant where Kyle proposed. His family has a cabin about a mile away from here, so we walk down to the water a couple times each time we visit. It's one of our favorite places in the world!
Auburn is an awesome little town, about 45 minutes from Sacramento. It's very close to where Kyle grew up, and a place we visit often. Moonraker is our favorite brewery in Auburn. It was voted the ninth best beer in the world! It's most famous for the hazy New England IPAs, but have lots of different options!
