It was a swipe that turned into love at first sight! After matching on Hinge, Nick and Alexandra met for the first time on July 30, 2021 at Nicola's Ristorante in Totowa, NJ; a halfway point between her home in Hoboken, NJ and his in Madison, NJ. Despite both feeling exhausted by online dating (let alone dating during a pandemic), it was clear this date would be different. Neither expected this to be their last first date, but they quickly realized he was the (calm) yin to her (crazy) yang. After leaving the restaurant, she called her hopeless-romantic-and-very-eager-for-updates cousin, Cathy, and told her he was the one. Fast forward to a few months later, Nick and Alexandra were enjoying dinner with friends at one of their favorite Hoboken restaurants, Grand Vin. During a split second of side convo, in true Nick fashion, he turned to Alexandra and said 'I love you' for the first time! Yes.. in the middle of a night out at dinner with friends. He blames the timing on the one-too-many Old Fashioned drinks that night, but everyone knows he can't keep a secret for long :)

Nick and Alexandra planned a trip up to Sullivan, Maine, a place that is near and dear to his heart. Nick's great-grandfather built the home, passing it down from generation-to-generation, allowing those along the way to enjoy all that it had to offer. Nick has so many memories from the countless summers he spent up in Maine as a child and was so excited to share those with Alexandra...but little did she know, they'd be making their own new memories that same week too! They were ready for a weeklong vacation filled with hiking in Acadia National Park, backyard sunsets overlooking Hog Bay and Mount Desert, and of course, nightly cocktail hours for the humans and golden hours for the dogs - a.k.a frisbee/ball, swim, shake, repeat. They spent their first day in Freeport, Maine watching DockDogs outside LL Bean (yes, we loved it), shopping at the Freeport outlets and enjoying lunch at Jameson Tavern. Fast forward through a three hour car ride with only one stop and Alexandra not-so-subtly grilling Nick with questions, they enjoyed their first cocktail hour with candles, wine, a sunset, and a proposal! Alexandra is so excited to call Nick her husband, and Livvie is even more excited to officially call him dad :) Now we can't wait to share our special day with you on 10/19/2024!
