Post Wedding Trips
Old Town, Košice
06.07.2025 We'll start the day with brunch at Republika Vychodu (menu linked below) followed by a walking tour of Košice Old Town with a local guide (cost: €5). We'll end the day chilling at the Bartoš house and garden with a few drinks and goulash soup (two options: meaty & vegetarian) traditionally prepared in the open air.
High Tatras
07.07.2025 We will leave Košice for a day trip to High Tatras! First, we'll arrive at Štrbské pleso, walk around the mountain lake, and then have lunch at Koliba Patria (menu linked below). Afterwards, those interested can continue on a hike to Popradské pleso. It's a two-hour hike - easy to medium difficulty, with the continuous ascend for the first half an hour (not too steep), followed by a path through the forest with breathtaking views of the mountains. We will have a break and refreshments at Popradské pleso before we walk back to Štrbské pleso by an asphalt road in the forest (easy walk, one hour).
Tokaj Macik Winery
08.07. 2025 We will leave Košice for a day trip to the famous wine region of Tokaj! Known as "Vinum Regum, Rex Vinorum" ("Wine of Kings, King of Wines"), a particular favorite of the Royal Houses of Europe for centuries, with Napoleon helping himself to 30–40 barrels every year! We will start the day with lunch at Kaštieľ Rákóczi Borša and then we will have a winestasting experience at the Tokaj Macik Winery (cost: €20). Their original medieval wine cellar, carved into layers of volcanic rock, provides the perfect setting to experience this historic wine, accompanied by members of the Macik´s family, who have been crafting Tokaj wine for generations.
Pieniny National Park
09.07. 2025 We will leave Košice for a day trip to Pieniny National Park, where we'll enjoy a traditional boat ride! The boat ride will cover 10 kilometers from Červený Kláštor to Lesnica, and it will last 1:45 hours. Sailing on a traditional wooden raft, manned by two captains who wear traditional Slovak folk outfits and share many funny stories. At the end of the boat ride, those interested can walk or cycle back to Červený Kláštor; otherwise, a bus is available. Cost: €20
Pohoda Festival
10-12.07. 2025 Finally, we'll end the week of festivities at the Pohoda Festival! Line up is looking great, confirmed artists include Iggy Pop, Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack, Fontaines D.C., JPEGMAFIA, DEADLETTER, JME, ... If you want to join us, please purchase the tickets using the link below.
