Question

Is San Miguel Safe

Answer

Compared with other cities in Mexico, San Miguel de Allende is safe to walk around during both the day and night. San Miguel de Allende is often noted as one of the safest Mexican cities for tourists which is usually backed up by its low crime rate score. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, San Miguel de Allende reportedly has a population of 139,000 with over 10,000 expat residents

Question

Can you use US dollars in San Miguel de Allende?

Answer

Credit cards and pesos (cash) are widely accepted. Pesos can be easily obtained from one of the many ATM machines using a credit or debit card. Although you may pay with US dollars in some of San Miguel's hotels, restaurants and stores, the exchange rate they will give you is less than favorable so I wouldn't recommend it.

Question

Do you have any hotel or restaurant recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please check the Travel & Stay and our Things To Do & Places to Eat pages for more recommendations. We do recommend booking a place through Airbnb or VRBO. There are tons of great options for various group sizes, price ranges and many are within walking distance to many things! Its best to look for places in Zona Centro near the Parqu Penito Juares or Jardin Allende.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we can only accommodate those listed on the invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The events are adult-only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you plan to bring your kids to San Miguel, we kindly ask you arrange a sitter while attending our events. We hope you can still join us!
