Know Before You Go

The Wedding Website of Hunter Korf and Sam Jennings
Have a question? We’ve gathered the details that guests ask most often to help you prepare for a wonderful weekend in Astoria.
Question

What should we expect?

Answer

Expect a relaxed weekend spent celebrating with the people we love in one of our favorite places. We’ll gather Friday evening in Cannon Beach before spending Saturday together in Astoria with a heartfelt ceremony, cocktails, a long dinner, table top games, dancing, and plenty of time to catch up with family and friends. More than anything, we hope everyone leaves feeling like they spent a wonderful weekend together.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Expect 55–70°. Wind and passing showers are always possible, even in June, so layers are your friend.

Question

Which airport?

Answer

Portland International (PDX) is the closest major airport, about 1½ hours from Astoria. Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) is about 4 hours away.

Question

Are the Friday events optional?

Answer

Absolutely! Join us for as much or as little of the weekend as you’d like. We’d love to see you Friday, but we completely understand if Saturday is all your schedule allows.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Free street parking is available throughout downtown Astoria. Once you’ve parked near The Ruins, everything on Saturday (including cocktail hour at Fort George) is just a short walk away, so you won’t need to move your car during the celebration.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

No transportation will be provided, but once you’re in downtown Astoria, all of Saturday’s locations are within easy walking distance of one another.

Question

Can I uber?

Answer

Ride shares are available, though they can be limited on the Oregon Coast. If you’re staying for the weekend, we generally recommend having a car or carpooling.

Question

Outdoor ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will all be indoors. We’ll likely step outside for photos throughout the day, while walking between locations, and Friday’s beach bonfire will be outdoors.

Question

Can I bring kids?

Answer

Yes!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire with a Pacific Northwest twist. Think suits, midi dresses, jumpsuits, florals, textured fabrics, and layers. June on the Oregon Coast can be cool, breezy, and unpredictable, so we recommend bringing a jacket.

Question

Accessibility?

Answer

Most of the celebration takes place on the main floor. A few steps are required to enter the Astor Building, and family portraits and some wedding party photos will take place upstairs on the mezzanine.

Question

Can I explore Astoria between events?

Answer

Yes! Cocktail hour and dinner will be in different locations just across the street, so you’ll have a little time to wander downtown if you’d like. Throughout the day, please feel free to step away, recharge, or take a stroll whenever you need. We want everyone to feel relaxed and enjoy the weekend at their own pace.

Question

Registry?

Answer

You can find our registry (along with a few group gift options) on the Registry page. Thank you for celebrating with us!
