Question

What considerations are being made regarding COVID-19?

Answer

Honestly, we've been taking everything day by day... but with the continued extensions of the stay-at-home order we're faced with the reality that we likely won't be able to have the big wedding of our dreams. Michigan is not likely to open up again or have unrestricted events by August... leaving us with the decision of needing to downsize the wedding. Whether this means 10, 50, or 100 people, we aren't sure yet- just please know that this is not an easy thing to do and if we had it our way EVERYONE would be there. Please be patient for invitations. Many considerations are being made about those who are at-risk for contracting COVID, those with children, and those that are coming from out of state. For those that we can no longer extend an invite to, I'll be reaching out you personally in the coming months. We will also definitely be looking into options like a FB live session so that everyone can still view and take part in our special day. Thank you all for understanding!!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Are the kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But given our strict budget and guest count, please stick to who was listed on your save the date and online in our RSVP system. Also if we could not extend an invitation to your kids, our wedding should be your night off; please make arrangements for babysitting with family or friends as necessary.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail, please! It'll be August in MI with an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. There are plenty of fans in the barn but no AC.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at least a half hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and so we can get the party started as scheduled. (See Schedule tab for a complete list of events)

Question

Where should I park day-of?

Answer

Our venue offers onsite parking for up to 165 cars. Drive in past the barn and there will be a large gravel loop to take you around to the 3 different parking areas. Fingers-crossed this will be MORE than enough space, so long as no one is parking sideways!

Question

Where do you have registries?

Answer

About 99% of our registry is through Target. Zola has also helped us to set up a "jar" if you will for honeymoon funds. Go to our Registry tab and just below you can see the Zola items or click on "Target" and it will link you to our registry on their site.

Question

What's the policy for photos?

Answer

We would greatly appreciate the ceremony being phone & camera free (we hired a photographer so please let them do their job). Please feel free to use them during dinner and dancing... don't forget to use #MillCreekHills #HillyouBeMine &/or #kontiohill0820

Question

I have more questions...

Answer

Please feel free to contact the bride directly at 616.566.8441 with your name and question... so long as it's not within the 24 hours before the wedding!
