Enjoy local vendors selling everything from fresh vegetables to stuffed spicy cheese bread. We suggest parking in one of the parking ramps off the capitol square, but you might get lucky and find street parking (bring quarters!) The Kyle and Nicole way: Park at the Lake Street Parking Ramp and enjoy the walk up State street! Window shop along the way, and stop in for bubble tea at Sencha. Continue walking up State St. to the Farmer's market where you will find some of our favorite vendors like Hook's Cheese and Stella's. You would be remiss if a sconut (scone + donut) was not bought at Chris & Lori's Bakehouse.
Perhaps Madison's best summer hang out location, "The Terrace" offers hundreds of sunburst chairs overlooking Lake Monona so you can watch sail boats pass by, eat a brat and grilled corn on the cob, drink some Spotted Cow, and maybe even watch a local band perform. Within the Union itself, it is worth checking out the classic German beer hall and ordering a giant pretzel! *To purchase alcohol at the Terrace or within Memorial Union, you must have a guest pass or a Lifetime Membership card
Henry Vilas is a wonderful outdoor zoo with goats you can feed and polar bears! Admission and parking are free! There is a cute cafe nearby called Zuzu's, and the zoo is also near the entrance to the arboretum.

University Ridge is Kyle's favorite local course. Moreover, it is Madison's finest golf course and home to the American Family Pro Tournament. This is a difficult course, but each hole is gorgeous. Use the distracting views as an excuse for your poor shot.
