In 2018, Kristin moved to North Carolina and started working at NC State University. Her boss at the time tried to set her up with someone else who worked there because he was an "amazing guy". Kristin said "no thanks" and carried on for the next year. In late 2019, she became friends with this "amazing guy" and turns out he was Colin Beamer! They started as friends but made their feelings known for each other on her birthday in November 2019. The rest is history!

Colin used the guise of Kristin's 30th birthday to plan the best proposal and engagement party EVER! It was Saturday, November 4, 2023 and the day started off like any other. Kristin headed off to the gym and when she got home, Colin had a surprise for her! He sent her off to the best spa she'd ever been to! While she was getting a massage and having a bath soak, Colin was meeting secretly with his family who was in town to help him set up the engagement party. After the spa, Kristin and Colin got ready and headed to Yates Mill, a gorgeous historic mill in Raleigh. We took a 45-minute tour that ended with Colin popping the question inside the mill! His work colleague, Sarah, was present to take photos that we will cherish forever. After our engagement photoshoot, Colin whisked Kristin off to dinner at a nice steakhouse where she was surprised by some of our best friends who live out of state: Paul, Lauren, and Kelcy! Then we headed back to our home in Raleigh where Kristin was STUNNED to see her backyard full of people! The Beamers, our neighbors, work friends, out of state friends, and KRISTIN'S ENTIRE IMMEDIATE FAMILY! We ended the night celebrating, laughing, and crying with some of our closest family and friends. A night we will never forget.
