Kristen & John were introduced through mutual friends on the beach in Sea Girt. Their first date was August 5th at Just Jake's in Montclair. The Olympic Games opening ceremony was on that night and Kristen kept commenting on the outfits as the athletes paraded into the arena. John (ever the fashionista) smiled and nodded politely the whole time. The two "officially" started dating on September 3rd.

Kristen & John spent the day in the city, exploring the Museum of Ice Cream, the holiday shops at Union Square Park and other holiday related activities. John had planned on proposing at the museum, but never found the right moment where they weren't surrounded by people. Kristen thought it was odd that John refused to check his coat at the coat check, but had no idea it was because there was a ring in the front pocket. John proposed at home in front of the Christmas tree after they exchanged presents. Both families were thrilled, although Kristen's family took much longer to answer than John's.
