Vanessa and Alex had an official courthouse marriage with just their parents on May 14, 2017. They wanted to do this so they could be officially married before the birth of their son Leo. Now they want to have their big wedding celebration the way they had originally planned, with all their loved ones together in one of their most cherished places, Rock Creek. They invite you to join them in celebrating their love and happiness! There will be a short 'ceremony' where the couple will exchange hand written vows, which they have saved just for this occasion, followed by a reception with drinks, food, and lots of fun games for all ages. Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome!
Alex and Vanessa took calculus together, but Alex was too shy to say hello. When they ran into each other at Costco in July after the semester was over, Alex struck up a conversation. Vanessa was running errands for her job at Starbucks, and learned that Alex had a friend who worked at another Starbucks. Alex was still too shy to ask for her number and the two eventually said goodbye and parted ways. Vanessa didn't want to let such a sweet and handsome guy just get away, so she did something very out of character, and gave her number to her friend to give to his friend to give to him. Alex called her two days later and they have been inseparable ever since.
Alex had been carrying the engagement ring around for months, without Vanessa ever suspecting a thing. They took a trip to their favorite place, Glacier National Park, for the anniversary, where Alex had planned on purposing. However, the right moment never presented itself, and so, life went on. About a month later, they took a trip down to Idaho to view the total solar eclipse, and right at the moment of totality, a once in a lifetime moment, Alex suddenly knew the time was perfect. And of course, she said yes!
