Flight
We've booked our flights! We're arriving Tuesday 27th March & will stay in Penang for the full 2 weeks until Monday 9th April.
Flight
It might be cheaper to 1st book a return flight from your location to Kuala Lumpur. Then book a separate return flight from KL to Penang (there are plenty of cheapo airlines like Firefly & Air Asia that run the short flight many times a day). Hope that helps!
Travel Note
We'll be elated to have you even the one BIG day! But if you're flying from the States (& your schedule permits it), please try allow for a whole day of recovery!
Hotel
This is the wedding venue! It's a 5 star beach resort & the prices average around 150-200$ per night. We have been told though that if 10+ rooms are booked, we can get a discount for guests - so if your'e interested, message us by END OF JAN & we'll help you book if we get to 10+ rooms!
Hotel
This is close to Penang Road and is definitely a fun boutique hotel/hostel. The prices average 20-50$ per night. If it's fully booked, other hostels in the area should be similar prices.
Travel Note
Erik & I will be staying around Gurney Drive during our stay, except for the 1-2 nights we'll be at the wedding resort. We suggest guests book in either the Batu Feringgi area, on Gurney Drive, or close to Penang Road (in town). You may even want to book at two different places to change things up! Batu Feringgi = Definitely the more touristy area, meaning prices are steeper. There's a LONG strip of (mostly) beach resorts & it's also home to the fun night markets & a great food court. Gurney Drive = No beach hotels & less likely to have cheap hostels & air B&B. On one end there's a popular shopping centre & the other end has traditional restaurants. This is in between both Penang Road & Batu. Penang Road = It's the main road in the middle of the back-packing/bars/clubbing area. Here it's a little busier, but you'll find cheaper accomodation, small cafes & attractions. Also, here are shops to book touristy excursions (remember you can compare prices & bargain!)
Train
There is no train haha. We suggest stick to cabs & ubers! For cabs, they don't use a meter so to ensure you don't get ripped off, we'll let you know rough prices to & from common locations.
