I go to nature to be soothed and healed and to have my senses put in order. - John Burroughs
Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center 23850 HWY 285 S, Buena Vista, CO 81211 Check-in is at 8:30am We'll get off the river at 12:30pm $65/person Water came early this year and is now low. The rafting is quite mellow, more of a relaxing river float. Those of us looking for a bit more adventure have decided to do a kayak lesson on the river (inflatable kayaks, no rolling or anything fancy like that). There are countless ways to enjoy nature on a summer day in Buena Vista. Please reach out if you would like information about other mountain adventures, guided trips, where to rent gear, etc. Some of our favorite activities include hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, disc golf, stand up paddle board, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horse back riding, off-roading, aerial adventure courses, and golfing. See our "Things To Do" page for more information. Another great idea would be to just soak in the hot springs all day.

Our minds, as well as our bodies, have need of the out-of-doors. Our spirits, too, need simple things, elemental things, the sun and the wind and the rain, sunrise and mist and mossy forest trails, the perfumes of dawn and the smell of fresh-turned earth and the ancient music of the wind among the trees. - Edwin Way Teale
