Jake and Sierra met at a friend’s tailgate during their sophomore year at West Virginia University, just before a football game. We ended up at a friend’s apartment down the road from the stadium, where we shared laughs and danced on the porch for hours. From that night on, it just clicked—and the rest is history.
Jake was the first person to say I love you. Early into our relationship we were sitting in a Firehouse Subs parking lot and Sierra said "Look at that Mini Cooper" and Jake said, "I love you, but that's not a Mini Cooper". Even though it just slipped out, every word was meant.
Our first date was interesting to say the least. We went to a haunted house called Fright Farm. Every year Jake's fraternity would go and get a party tent. Sierra was chased by a guy with a chainsaw and Jake says to this day he's never seen her run so fast. After getting pulled over on the way home, we knew we could get through anything together.
Even though originally our families are 6 hours apart. We met each other’s families within the same week during the first spring break we ever had together. We started in Pennsylvania meeting Jake’s family for the first half of the week and ended in West Virginia meeting Sierra's families the second half of the week.
After dating for almost 3 years the time had come! Rings had been looked at, the perfect spot had been found, and blessings had been given. After taking the ring all the way across the country, Jake proposed to Sierra in Colter Bay, Wyoming in front of the Grand Tetons. After a quick celebration of Elk burgers in Gardiner, we knew we would be happy forever.
Although we had lived together in college our senior year, we were officially out on our own just after we had got engaged. Jake landed a job in the Poconos, so like the amazing fiancé Sierra is, she went with Jake with no hesitation. We now live happily in Bangor, Pennsylvania and we can’t wait to get married and continue this life together
