The Wedding Rosters

Seemed only fitting for us each to suit up an olympic roster of champions to cheer us on for the big day. We both feel incredibly grateful for the community of people we have gathered over the years through childhood, college, and into adulthood. From Texas to Philly to VB to AZ, we feel quite confidently that home is wherever your people are.

Sarah Morris

Matron of Honor

Twin sister, “womb-mate” and roommate, soccer teammate, fellow victim of the “Morris curse,” and most importantly best friend, Sarah has literally been by Kmo’s side from day one. Siempre. Throughout their lives, Sarah has mastered the art of “while you’re up…” and Bravo TV marathoning. But she is also a two-time winner for Teacher of the Year and the funniest, most genuine person you’ll ever meet.

Olivia Morris

Bridesmaid

Olivia is Katie’s younger, more mature sister who currently lives in Denver, Colorado. Known as “Biela” to the family, Olivia is steadfast in her faith and loves to travel and experience the world around her. By 19 years old, while the rest of us were drinking Bacardi Razz and Smirnoff, Olivia was sipping Jameson on the rocks like a boss.

Elizabeth Morris

Elizabeth (aka “Liz”) might be the youngest Morris sister, but she is by far the coolest and most dynamic. A passionate environmentalist and LA girl through and through, Elizabeth is Katie’s fashion icon and “mini-me” - though Katie probably hopes to be more like Liz than the other way around!

Libby Conine

With her keen eye for style and seriously witty personality, Libs easily won over Katie long before she became her sister-in-law. Not only does she recognize art, beauty, and love in many forms, but she knows how to create it in every space and relationship she takes on. Oh, and she has really good eyesight apparently...

Elise Garcia

Often confused as Katie’s twin at points of their lives, Elise and Kmo chalk it up to the fact that they were always together. After sharing virtually the same schedule of classes throughout high school (not to mention the responsibility of taking care of Sarah), it seemed obvious that they were meant to be college roommates, forever best friends, and familia. She is constantly giving of her time and very genuine heart to all she meets. Just don’t expect her to give up the snacks in her purse...

Melissa Unruh

Next-door neighbor, best friend, fellow get-rich-quick schemer, record 3-point shooter at The Woodlands High School, and current mother of triplets - Melissa is quite a woman! She shows tenacity in every endeavor she takes on and doesn’t take any BS from anyone. If you are daring, challenge her to a game of darts...

Jenny Kislingbury

One day back in 1996, John J. (Katie’s dad) pulled Jenny’s name out of a hat to be on their county soccer team...and the rest is history. From then on, it was Jenny’s house for all of the team parties and many, many slumber parties filled with very bad home movies that make us all feel very thankful we did not grow up with social media. Jen is the model of a balanced heart that our team and friend group needed then and still does today. Part time boss lady, part time goofball that will always stand by your side.

Jenne Kim

College roommate and travel partner on a summer abroad in Spain, Jenne learned to tolerate Katie’s loudness and forgive her tendency to steal her lotion. In turn, Katie learned to love Jenne’s appreciation for celebrating all occasions no matter how big or small. Whether it was pumpkins, sparkly stuff, yummy smelling candles, or more importantly sharing laughter over a meal, Jen knows how to make a place feel like home.

Leslie Perez

Leslie and Kmo shared one side of the apartment complex for most of college and were meticulous night owls staying up studying together while Jenne and Elise were snoozing across the hall. Leslie has always had a presence - whether that be due to her stomping around in her super-cool boots, giving you the biggest, most aggressive hugs, or sharing her most recent music find, she brings a unique perspective and certain “joie de vivre” to every room.

Catie "B" Streusand

Sure, Katie and Catie might share the same name in their college crew, but always “Catie B.” and “Kmo,” there were never any mix-ups. Catie was practically a roommate in college, always bringing a spark factor and sense of joy to the apartment. Catie knows how to “vivir” - always finding a new adventure or way to challenge herself and the rest of us.

Joanna Foster

Jo knows how to bring the energy up in any room she enters. She will be your biggest hype woman, but you better be prepared to back it up! Jo has a charisma and optimism that is contagious - her smile will make you smile and her laugh will make you laugh. She can turn anything into a competition or game so bring your A-game when you meet her.

Andrea Goetchius

Drea has been Katie’s “Special girl” since their days in Teach For America where they met in a graduate school cohort. Although we were an unlikely pair of best friends with Drea being more into yoga, cooking, and art and Katie being more into athletics, they shared a similar heart for kids and many, many moments of laughter together. And finally, after a short stint squatting in an empty apartment for a month, they also shared a home together for 2 wonderful years.

Lauren Saria

For the past 6 years, Lauren has been Katie’s “Ohana” in Phoenix. They have been through significant phases of life together, and Lauren has truly been the family that helped Katie make the desert a home. Katie has learned all the things from Lauren - how to cook and appreciate food, where to eat and what to drink (wine game has stepped up significantly in the pandemic), that shopping can be fun at times, and most importantly...to believe in herself.

Brigette Smith

Bridesmaid

The absolute definition of a BOSS, or more appropriately in Spanish - “Jefita,” Brigette knows what she wants and will work relentlessly to make it happen. She holds high expectations for herself and for her people, but she backs up those expectations with fierce loyalty and authentic love and support. Brigette and Katie were in the same 2010 Teach For America Corp, but they became close years later over their shared love for kids, drinking wine, and traveling (although Brig will never let Kmo book the hotel again).

Jess Golden

Bridesmaid

The most vibrant of personalities, the best dance moves in town, and a heart as golden as her last name, Jess is a breath of fresh air (or not-so-fresh air... IYKYK). Jess was also in Katie’s 2010 Teach for America Corp where they taught in the same district. Katie and Jess became close years later when they formed the blondest of trios and have since spent many an evening sharing wine on the front porch and many, many moments of laughter.

Wendy Militar

Wendy came into Kmo’s life when her husband Ivan joined the Barca crew in Arizona and boy oh boy, what a gift that was. The most positive and loving person you will ever meet, she gives her time to anyone that needs it and absolutely loves a project. Most admirable of all, she somehow puts up with Ivan “catastrophe” Militar and continues to be a devoted wife, mother, friend, sister, daughter and healthcare worker.

Gwen Brogley

What a heart this witty Pennsylvania native has that she is constantly sharing with anyone who crosses her path. Not only does Gwen take care of an academy of teenage boy soccer players serving as their residential life director and all-around team mom, she still selflessly manages to take care of her family and all of her friends. Now that Katie lives in PA, Gwen is showing her the ropes one cocktail at a time.

Omar Herrera Luna

Omar was just 13 years old when Katie took over his middle school soccer team. Although he was initially skeptical about this little white woman being the boys soccer coach, but they quickly became close after his parents adopted Katie in as their own. Over the years, Katie and Omar spent many days on the soccer field together, many car-rides sharing stories, lots of school events, and celebrations with the family (beware of his dad shoveling out tequila shots). It has been one of the biggest honors of her life getting to watch Omar grow up, graduate from Santa Clara University and cultivate a lifestyle that is fully rooted in a strong sense of culture, family, education, and exploration.
