Our love story begins long before our first date ever happened. Both of us are Gonzaga alums: KJ graduating in 2020 and Nick in 2017. Nick was a Business Major and soccer player for the university, and KJ was a Nursing Major. Although the invisible string was present, even leading us to live in houses right next to each other (shout out 610 & 604 E Mission), we missed each other by a single semester. However, we both stayed on our own journeys in Spokane: Nick pursuing a career as a firefighter for the city of Spokane and KJ as a registered nurse at Deaconess Hospital. Ultimately, we have the highly esteemed dating app Tinder to thank for our paths finally crossing, but it took awhile for us to actually meet in-person. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we had “matched” on Tinder two times prior. Neither of us remember a whole lot about these brief moments of conversation over the app, but basic contact information was exchanged (phone numbers, Instagrams, Snapchats, etc). Both of us seeing other people and focusing on our careers during this time. But then finally, November 2021 came around. The Tinder universe brought about our third time “matching”. What was Nick’s opening line for the third match, you may ask? “Third times a charm, might as well get married now” And the rest is history ❤️
