Leelanau State Park
Leelanau State Park is located at the tip of the little finger on the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula, where over 1,300 acres are waiting for visitors to enjoy. The park set along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline and woods offers the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum, 8.5 miles of hiking trails, a picnic area, and more.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore
Sleeping Bear Dunes offers many excellent opportunities for adventure, exploration, wildlife viewing and just plain having fun. The Sleeping Bear is an area unlike any other, over 50,000 acres along Lake Michigan replete with hills, forests, numerous small lakes and rivers, sugar sand beaches and, of course, the massive coastal sand dunes and bluffs. Make sure to check out the dune climb, a 3.5 mile climb that takes you to Lake Michigan!
Northern Latitudes Distillery
BRIDE'S CHOICE Leelanau County's first full service distillery, creating small batch artisan spirits from Michigan's rich agricultural products. The tasting room is open seven days a week. Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail
Discover Leelanau Peninsula by experiencing the authentic taste of local wines. The small peninsula is home to 24 wineries. The trail is divided into three mini-trails for easy touring: the Sleeping Bear Loop, the Northern Loop and the Grand Traverse Bay Loop. Each tasting room along the trail offers its own unique experience, from pure elegance with unparalleled views to cozy nooks loaded with charm.
Fishtown
Northern Michigan's commercial fishing heritage remains alive today in Leland's Fishtown! Walk along the docks, amongst the weathered fishing shanties, smokehouses, racks of drying fishing nets, and fish tugs on the Leland River, and you can imagine what it would have been like in the early 1900s. Many of the shanties now house delightful gift and clothing boutiques, art galleries and specialty food shops. Fishtown still operates as one of the only working commercial fishing villages in the state of Michigan.
